I honestly can't believe it's been a decade. I remember it like it was yesterday. I was in Ohio visiting, back from a year in Korea, prior to my move to Colorado. Me and my buddy watched the YSU-tOSU game at a pizza/wing joint in Niles, then meet up with some other friends at a bar to catch up. We were following this game through highlights and on our phones. Just as we walked into the outside patio at the bar, Hart ripped off his long td run and we said "welp, looks like the fuckers are gonna luck out again." Then the magic happened. That bar went fucking nuts. Total strangers screaming "FUCK *ICHIGAN" and high fiving. One dude bought everyone on the patio a drink. It was so fucking awesome.
You have these oddball events that unwittingly become markers in your life. This is one of them for me. It was the last small period of time I vividly remember as a single guy. Two months later, I'd meet my future wife. In the time since, I've moved to Colorado, married, deployed twice, bought four cars, two houses, moved to Omaha, had two kids, and become a (somewhat) responsible adult. That decade flew by in the blink of an eye.
