Any Grads of the OSU Colleges of Education or Human Ecology?

I received the following email from the College of Education:

COLLEGES OF EDUCATION & HUMAN ECOLOGY TO CONSIDER PROPOSAL TO MERGE

Faculty and staff of the colleges of Education and Human Ecology are
beginning a process to explore whether the two units would be more
effective working together, enabling research and curriculum to address
the most challenging societal problems among individuals, families,
communities and schools. A merger could allow the new college to lead
the nation in academic programs addressing major school reform and
supporting healthy communities, families, adults and workplaces.

Alumni and friends of the College of Education are invited to attend a
forum with Interim Dean David Andrews on Tuesday, Oct. 25, from 6 to
7:30 p.m. in the Longaberger Alumni House, Sanders Lounge, 2200
Olentangy River Road. Free parking is available in the Longaberger
Alumni House/Fawcett Center lot.

To read the proposal describing the process to consider a merger and
to make comments online, see http://education.osu.edu/coehec/ .

Personally, I really like this ideas as there is a lot of overlap between the two colleges...plus, it ties the undergraduate majors in Human Ecology closer to Education, which is needed at OSU.

Any other grads from these colleges have an opinion? (Thump, I know you graduated from both.)

I'm always for consolidation of like entities.

Especially when dealing with the academic behemoth known as tOSU.

I like the idea.

Too many people at the university doing the job of 1/5 of a person!
