My advice is that if you can't afford a 5 year car payment, you can't afford the car....

My advice is if you can't pay cash for a purpose-built exotic, you can't afford it.

Get a lon for a New Honda, and save your deployment pennies for the Viper if you must have it.

Anyway, good luck, and stay safe. Be aware that Betas are on a don't ask don't tell policy in the Military, so keep your eye out, but I have it on good authority they still play catch shirtless in the sandbox. :wink2:

Again, thanks all for the good advice. I've got plenty of options weighing to do. Lots going on with some nice financial gains here & there...but we'll see. All in all, helpful stuff. I'm an old boot so I'm not going to do anything moronic...just looking into the Viper before or after deployment. All in all...the board always gives pretty diverse, yet friendly advice. For those of you who aren't Dodge fans...neither am I, sans the Viper.

Most of us have had a hard on for a particular car or motorcycle at some point. I lusted after a BMW 2002tii.
Generally speaking it's the absolute worse thing you could do with $30,000.
Now borrowing $30,000 for a college education or tech school training could pay back big time!

Much appreciate your feedback Taos, but I already have 3 degrees and plan to do quite well when I get out of the service. :) My MOS is only the icing on the cake when it comes to post-military employment. I am by no means rich, but I do consider myself fortunate. Plus I'll probably be getting married within the next 12 months, so pulling the trigger sooner than later might be the idea. Although she did say after all my hard work that I deserve one. Good woman eh? Woohoo!

Why a Viper over other sports cars?
