Dwayne Smith, the guy slated to be their #2 TB, quit football this year due to a heart condition. So now sophomore Booker Stanley (who looked pretty good as a frosh last year) will start for the next three weeks, and two true freshman will compete for the #2 spot.

Booker Stanley... :grr: That guy ate us up last year on a rainy night in Madison. Sure will be nice to have them here for a change.

We lost to Wisky the last two times they were in Columbus. We haven't beaten them since 1996 - and that was by 3 points in our Rose Bowl season.

We owe 'em.

We had to play them back to back at their place because of what happend 96-99. The series broke for 2 years and the two bookend games were @ OSU, so in all its wisdom the B10 gives Wisky CONSECUTIVE home games vs OSU to even it out...what a crock.

Why they got the same deal in 92 and 93 is beyond me, maybe someone with better recall can enlighten me.

They're gunning for us! From the end of AD's chat on ESPN (prior to his recent injury):

"Mike,Elgin, IL: As a graduate of Purdue it pains me to say this - I hope you have a great season and my question is can someone in the Big 10 please knock off Ohio State and Michigan this year?"

The Big Ten does its scheduling in 10 year segments. They try to ensure that during that period no team plays at another school two consecutive years and that they play the same number of home and road games vs. each school. However, they don't look at how the segments abut - which is what happened in 1992-93 and 2002-03. 1996 & 99 were not back to back years and OSU and Wisky were even on home and away from 1993 through 2002.
