Helix Launcher 1 does similiar, but doesn't give you the 3D app drawer.

At this point, apps I use regularly:

Where - Great GPS addon, find cool stuff around you.
Google Voice - Nuff said, with it syncing now it's friggin awesome
Handscent SMS - Great replacement for built in SMS in the droid.
Mixzing - Replacement for the media player, works a lot nicer and has a great widget screen. Also, when you pay the 3 bucks for the registered version it as an option to give you play and pause screens when the phone is locked.

Paid apps:
Tapatalk - Still waiting for BP on here, it's the only forum I read not in there :sad2:
FeedR - RSS Feed Reader that ties into google reader.
BeyondPod - Best podcast player out there.
Sound Manager - Set schedules for your ringones, notifications, and what not. Really useful if your work and personal mail is tied into your phone, notifications in my sleep piss me off.
Gblocker - Block annoying unwanted calls, works great.

Rooted Apps: (Your phone needs to be rooted to use these)
Wireless Tether - Turns your phone into a MiFi
Titanium Backup - Backup your apps and data, great for trying out new Roms
Rom Manager - Updater for Cyanagenmod (and other devs who theme/customize, there's a ton of Roms in the donate version)
SetCPU - Allows you to control the speeds of your overclocking.
Root Explorer - Allows you to explore the entire operating system and file structure of your phone.

Android is getting about 3000 new apps a week right now, and there's a ton of shit I didn't list here, check out xda-developers.com or alldroid.org for newly developed apps, a lot of which tend to be free and/or open source.

And a couple apps for the homebrewer,

Brewzor: A brew calculator for all grain brewers, has worked pretty well for me. (Free, less powerful than beertools, but it's free and does most of what I need)
UltraCron: A stop watch/countdown timer. (I think it was 3 bucks, well worth it)

So, where is this BP App you promised OC? Think we'd allow you to hop on the iPhone app thread and make empty promises?

Heh, I was actually trying to code a few apps and realized I am lazy and like to drink a lot. At the moment I am trying to custom build my rom using Cyanogen source, but who knows how long that will hold my interest, perhaps someday, not today though :(

I could live with a BP app written by a drunk person. Might be pretty funny.

The real problems I came across when I started was how to get data, like bp spy, pushed to the phone. Might be a little more possible with 2.1 than it was with 2.0 since they have done some browser improvements that allow for more dynamic content. Maybe I'll pull out the sdk when I am in Korea and give it another try.

Are you using the HSMS over GV? GV is one of the main reasons I want an android phone over a iphone.

I still use Handscent for some stuff, a lot of people for some reason still refuse to use my google voice number, I just like it because it's a lot easier to manage your texts. Another problem was, up until about a month ago, google voice didn't have a sync feature, so the texts could be up to 5 minutes late, so I just used my regular sms.

Now GV syncs, so I am getting more into the habbit of using it.

I will add some love to the thread...

Handcent - very nice
Dolphin Browser
Pandora
Youmail - Visual voicemail
Urbanspoon
Automount
Advanced Task Killer
Labrynth - very addicting game

I used DroidMod to root and use Wireless Tether and get better speeds with that than I do the USB aircard I used.

PandaHome for theme and screen control, works nicely.

fanatic, can you recommend a good side scrolling game? I want to go to Verizon and test out the touchscreen functionality of a mario like game to see whether you can get by properly without buttons.

OCBF, could you use google voice with a smart phone that has data only on VZW? VZW said skype will not work without a data plan, but they would let me get a Droid/Incredible with only a data plan.

Technically, yes, you would need to find a free sip service to make and receive calls though. GV isn't VOIP yet, though there are rumors of it working. What you can do is use GV for Text, and push your GV # to your Skype number, making calls would be purely skype based though.
