Anderson Silva vs. Dan Henderson, March 1

Just got back from Nationwide, and have a few random thoughts:

1. Who the fuck is going to challenge Anderson at 185? I really thought Hendo would give him fits. Not so much. Silva could be dominant at 205 if he wanted to.

2. Jon Fitch is a nice fighter at 170, but is not a title contender.

3. Heath Herring fought out of his ass to beat Chieck Kongo. Kongo was overrated going into the fight, but was a lot more talented than the Texas Crazy Horse. Herring though gutted out an impressive win.

4. It was great to see Evan Tanner back fighting. Dude overcame a lot to get back in the octagon. It's too bad he had to fight Yushin Okami in his return. Total domination by Okami. Yushin is a huge middleweight and is a force to be reckoned with in the 185 class.

5. Josh Koscheck has the natural ability to be very dangerous at 170. His striking tonight was much improved. Dustin Hazelett put up a valiant effort, but Kos was just too strong in the end. Rematch with Diego perhaps?

6. Speaking of Diego, he just totally outclassed David Bielkheden. I still don't see him as big threat against the better wrestlers in the 170 class.

7. Was never a fan of Chris Leben at all until tonight. Dude just loves to bang. His fight against Alessio Sakara was worth the price of admission for me. I just love the reckless abandon he fights with. I wish more guys would take that approach.

8. Much deserved praise for Mark "The Hammer" Coleman tonight. He was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame. Great honor for the one of the pioneer's of GnP. Has a tough test against Brock Lesnar coming up though. I was hoping Mark would walk off into the sunset after receiving this honor, but it appears he wants a piece of Lesnar. Much like Michael Jordan's experiment with the Washington Wizards, I think this is going to end ugly for Coleman.

9. May 24th can't come quick enough. BJ Penn versus Sean Sherk!?!?!?! I can't fucking wait!!!! Also, Wanderlei Silva vs Keith Jardine & Tito Ortiz vs Lyoto Machida on the same card. YOWZA!!!!!!

10. Andrei Arlovski deserves a lot better. He's legit, but just not getting the love from the UFC.

Sears, I gotta agree, who the fuck is going to challenge Silva? The guy looked like he might have a challenge tonight, then the second round came and he just dominated and won. It's just insane.

Yeah, after the 1st round I turned to my buddy and said, "See why I put my green on Hendo!?" Then Silva and completely owns the 2nd round and ultimately the fight.

Fucking Brazilians.

I think his next fight will probably be Okami, but I don't really see Okami winning. Not taking anything away, but Silva is just insane, I thought after the first round last night he might have met his match, but in the second round, well...

I think the only way he's getting a challenge is if he moves up in weight class.

Agreed. I thought I read somewhere though that Anderson stated he would be more likely to move down to 170 than up to 205.

Okami's probably next in line. I would love to see Matt Lindland get a shot.
