The Oregon State kicker misses not 1, not 2, but 3 EXTRA POINTS, including one in OT to lose the game by 1. That QB from Oregon State is a warrior, and they played their ass off all game, just to have this 120 pound assrind miss 3 extra points. And of course LSU will move up in the polls after the "hard fought win". %$!$#$!

The saddest thing is that Oregon State player who KEPT THE BALL after he caught their 2nd TD. That caused a 5 yard delay of game penalty. The extra point doesn't hit the crossbar if they were 5 yards closer.

If Oregon State acted like they had played football before, they win.

The whining crybaby act after the last miss prevented me for feeling sorry for the kid. What a way to lose a game.

I appreciate the Nuge that much more after watching college football the last couple days.

They should have given him at least one point for hitting the posts three times in one game. I did not see the end of it. Did he push it to the right again?

I don't think a five yard penalty would make a difference with this kid. You have to feel bad for any competitor, but how the hell does a Div. 1A player do that in one game?

IMHO, DA-BUCKS is correct. The boneheaded, selfish act of hanging onto the football after scoring caused the yardage penalty...a big lapse in judgement by the lad. The penalty took an otherwise good kick in normal play and placed it on the vertical post...a miss. With that extra point, the game is essentially over for LSU.

Even the coach didn't have confidence in him at the end of the game... they were trying to signal for a time out becuase they wanted to go for two but no one on the field saw the signal.

Seeing NU and the other OSU lose games this week, I can't help but be amazed at what they let pass for a kicker at a BCS conference school. 2 teams just lost OT games by a total of 4 points while their "kickers" combine to miss(iirc) 5 FG's and 3 PATs. Thats just disgusting.

I mean even these smaller type schools pay the HC big bucks, why would you allow the situation to arise where you had someone that bad in a position that important? Hold open tryouts on campus with a schollie up for grabs and I guarantee someone will emerge that can at least kick a PAT.

It's just shocking to me that these HC's let a kicker that bad take the field for their team. I don't know Oregon State's situation from last year, but NU definitly knew that kicker sucked in '03 and Walkers dumb ass didn't do anything to upgrade the position, he just trots the same kid out in '04 and hopes he is better!!

Sorry for the rant and I know I shouldn't care but gross ineptitude just bothers me.

Okay, this is a little weird, but. . .

IF that bonehead hadn't kept the ball and caused the penalty, and assuming the extra point was made. . .

Then LSU would not have gone for it on 4th and short for the TD late in the game - they would have kicked the easy 3 (assuming they make it).

All else would be the same until the end, as a kickoff would have gotten, if anything, slightly better field position for Oregon State. But Oregon State would have run the same type of running plays, and USC would have made the same type of passing plays for a last minute TD.

So, in the end, LSU by scoring the last drive TD would have won the game without an overtime.

Maybe that bonehead gave Oregon State a shot at overtime.

hahaha, i can't stop laughing at that.. just read it

5 freakin yards?! If you are a D-1 kicker, then 5 yards back from an extra point should be nothing at all.

So...who is gonna come in and kick for OSU next year? :)

Lancaster has a damned good kicker this year, they say he was hitting from 60 yards in camp at Cincinnati, won the first game with a 46 yarder in the last 30 seconds of the game.

The last extra point attempt wasn't even close...it looked like he was aiming for the right read end zone pylon. If I'm the coach, that kicker is longer on scholarship. There is never an excuse to miss an extra on your own.
