I think it's safe to say that for countries not named "America", you'd have to feel pretty lousy about your chances at an event called the AMERICAN Football World Cup.

A little digging on Wikipedia shows that they've held this event twice before, with Japan winning both times. This is the first time the US has been invited, and now everybody's getting their asses beat by a bunch of college football scrubs. This has to be the most pointless thing I've ever seen.

To me, more football = kick-ass. I think that this will be good in the long-run. Increase world interest in the sport, and you'll get more international players into the NFL, I think. The more competition to get into the league, the better then players are. Sure, the United States will pound the world into the ground for a while, but not forever.
