Am I the most bizarre sports fan ever?

Ha awesome an Astros fan! I was at the NLCS Game 5 this past season. Best and worst sporting event in my entire life. I was crushed after the game, thought I would never enjoy sports again for the rest of my life.

Yeah same (I didn't go to the game though, lol), but that was one of the most disappointing games I've ever seen. I can't remember a baseball game that broke my heart, so much. The only thing worse than that was the World Series. Haha... I've finally found a guy with the same teams, almost. I must say I thought I was a "bizarre fan" as well.

I lived in Minnesota, New York and Ohio. I like the Vikings, Twins, Yankees, Mets (Don't watch pro basketball, but if I did, I'd probably have a spot for the Timberwolves, but I fucking hate the Knicks).... I even still like the Dallas Stars since they're really the Minnesota North Stars....

Can't say anyone has ever given me shit for who I root for. Although, one is not supposed to root for both the Yankees and the Mets. At least I get the sense that a New Yorker (I left before I was 10) would consider that bad form.

CFB: Ohio State
NFL: Vikings, but various other teams close second
NBA: Not sure if this league still exists, used to like the Lakers (Formerly of Minneapolis) and the Bulls
NHL: Playoffs. DOn't care who wins, but will choose a fav. between teams. Have never found myself rooting against Dallas. I love playoff hockey..

I was born in Wisconsin (and visited a lot as a kid) and grew up in Michigan, and now live on the east coast..

CFB - Ohio State (I'm an alum)
NFL - Green Bay Packers, then Cleveland Browns
MLB - as a kid a big Yankees and Tigers fan, but I really don't get into it anymore.
NHL - don't care, I hate hockey (which didn't go over well living in Detroit 4 years ago...)
NBA - really don't care

CFB - OSU and whomever is beating scUM.
CBB - OSU
NFL - Bungles
MLB - Redlegs
NBA - Cavs (by default)
NHL - CBJ

Any event not including my teams - whoever is losing at any given moment. Talk about a bad habit. :(

CFB - tOSU
NFL - Steelers
MLB - Indians.
NBA - Cavs. I grew up in Massachusetts and I was a huge Celtics fan during the great Lakers/Celtics rivalry days.
NHL - I liked the Bruins until the Bluejackets came along.

Man right before Puljous's HR the place was going crazy. I mean for about 2 straight innings people just were just standing up and cheering, it's the LOUDEST I've ever heard it at any sporting event I've ever been to. And then one swing of the bat... and it got deathly quiet lol. Still a fun expierence, just sucks to be on the losing end of that.

... but now I know what scUM fans feel like when we go into their house and beat them in the final minutes.

I'm pretty screwed up when it comes to the NFL. I like the Browns and Steelers. I also like the Colts, Pats, and anyone else who strikes me in a given season. I tend to like teams with players that I played with, against, or watched. The Browns are my favorite though. On the other hand the old Browns were my least favorite team. I hate the Ravens, and the 49ers, while I just dislike the Falcons since they drafted Vick. I liked them back when they went to the Super Bowl because they had 2 guys on the team that I played with.

NBA- Cavs only
MLB- Tribe only
Hockey- Who cares

NFL: Green Bay - lived there for 6 years after the Browns moved and you can't help but become a fan of them when you live there especially when your old team just moved to another city. Still follow the Browns but they're a distant second right now.

other than that, I'm loyal to all the Cleveland teams that I grew up with: The Tribe, Cavs and (of course) OSU.

DE... did you get to Lambeau this year?

NFL- Seahawks
MLB- Mariners
NHL - Jackets
NBA- Sonics/Cavs

Military family, grew up all over. Really got into sports while we were living in Whidbey Island, WA (Island in Puget Sound). Have a lot of family from OH-IO and would always come back here for visits regardless of where we were living at the time. I think as long as you have a story behind why you are a fan of whatever team then that's fine.

CFB - OSU (Arizona State is a distant second)
CBB - OSU, Duke, Arizona (used to live in Durham and Tucson)
NFL - Patriots, Steelers, Indy (local team, love Ben, love Peyton -- but I mostly root for the NFL Buckeyes)
MLB - Red Sox (Indians were my team growing up)
NBA - New Jersey and Detroit (I love fast-break teams)

Hey NickNC33, my parents lived on Whidbey Island in the '70s.

CFB- OSU, of course
CBB - Ditto
NFL- Bengals
MLB- Reds
NBA- This is where it gets weird. I started watching sports back in 1972, and I didn't even know that Cleveland had a team back then. :tongue2: If I had known, I probably would have become a Cleveland fan. As it was, I got to see one NBA game per week and it was whoever CBS chose to show that week. I became a Celtics fan for two reasons:
1. They had John Havlicek, who was from OSU
2. I loved that parquet floor! (8-year old boys are easily amused)
So I guess you could say I'm a Celtics fan primarily, but I also root for Cleveland when I happen to see them playing. But I usually don't follow the NBA much until the playoffs.
