Alright LSU fans, what do you think of us?

Depending on who you listen to, OSU is either overrated, or underrated. That tells me y'all are probably right about where y'all should be.

I only saw a little of the game against Michigan and was shocked to see their hotshot O-lineman Long get pushed around like that. But most of what I saw was late in the gmae, and OSU appeared to be in "kill the clock" mode.

I did see Illinois take the final knee in that game, but that was the only play I saw, and it was from the back of a crowd standing around a TV on campus before our game with La Tech.

If what I read is true that y'all struggled with the spread option, I like our offenses chances, because we have run a variation of it at times.

The word on OSU's O (which I've seen very little of this year) is that y'all are old scholl pound it up the middle, with a normal pocket passing QB. And I don't care what conference you're in, having the number 1 D in the country is something to be proud of.

I liked the 'honest opinion' thread.. so what do you Tiger fans think of this Buckeye team heading down to NOLA?

Well, I think y'all have a great defense but, it's rarely tested to the max in Big 10 play but that's not to say it can't stop LSU by any means. Offensively, OSU is solid and consistent from what I've seen and I hope to God Beanie Wells doesn't find any holes to run through because it cold mean problems. I really believe that if LSU gets healthy, we'll give OSU a ton of problems and if we do actually show up, it'll be a one sided affair. but no worries, we've showed up maybe 3 times this season, so y'all might be in luck.

Ohio State in General:

I also think y'all worship Woody Hayes to much, but not to the Nth degree like the Bama gumps worship Bear, but still. I know he was a great coach but, he punched a kid in the neck during a game, a southern boy at that. I guess we've never really had a coach with such significance at LSU, maybe ole' Cholly Mac.

I can't stand Brent Musty Burger and Herbie in the booth together and when Kieth Jackson would open his mouth and say "on the banks of the Olentangy" I would get annoyed but that has really nothing to do with OSU.

Personally, I think y'all would benefit from having a few more late afternoon or night games. I know it gets cold but what's the fun in waking up at the crack of dawn, tailgating for an hour or so, then going into the game. Noon games just plain suck. Just imagine tailgating for 8 hours or more and then sobering up at the game and then tailgating more, basking in the glory of another victory for OSU.

and finally:

from what I've seen on the board. y'all are good people

"beer in hand by 7 tailgating with the other hardcores" - that describes OSU tailgating. the party starts early and ends late - I LOVE noon games

Other than some of our bone head plays, I see two very similar teams.

You guys have a very good linebacking corp, probably better than ours. A very good d-line. I think our tackles are better, but your ends are definitely better. Secondary is good. They didn't look good when they were spread out and you get to the third and forth guy having to cover and you had to take out on of you LBs. Very similar to us. I think you have several guys that will knock the snot out of you.

Offensively, very good. Good RBs with some diversity. In last years game I really thought the only guy playing was Pittman. You don't have anyone like McFadden and Jones, but that would be downright scary if you did. Again this is very similar to LSU. At wide receiver you have a very competient group. Goood routes and great hands. THey make plays. Not so similar to LSU, where I think we have more speed, but less consistency. O-line very big and physical. Based on the little I've seen they come right at you. Did not notice a ton of (a few) pulls and traps. Make a hole and let the back hit it.

QB is hard to read, because you haven't had to rely on him. You are good enough to win with a very average QB. Not saying he is not good, it is a testament to the team. I just can't read it. The guy makes the plays that are asked of him and seems to have good action on his fakes. Helps when you can run the ball effectively. He is consistent, if not spectacular. Remember, we played against Tebow and Woodson.

This is where the two teams differ. LSU has a flair for the dramatic, but lacks the cosistency and killer instinct. OSU just plods along and makes you make mistakes. Very methodical, which as you see, wins the vast majority of games.

The HS my daughter attends does the same thing and they play in the superdome this weekend for the state championship.

Hell yeah. "I wanna shotgun three beers on the walk to the stadium.."

But it's "beer in hand by 7, tailgating with the other hardcores by 8"

last game i was at, i was fed all kinds of stuff, omelets, sausage, pastries, brats, ect, name it and its there.
To summarize for the LSU fans, our games are usually a noon kick, so its kegs & eggs for breakfast. 3:30 or the rare 8:00 kickoff will see traditional midwestern fare: pork, beef, BBQ, ribs, wings, etc ...

I am a die hard big ten homer, but me and some of my buddies argue about how great the sec is or isnt over the last few years. I say what the hell ever you guys put in the water down there i wish it would trickle up this way a bit. My friends say that your conference is good but over hyped!! I disagree with them and think a one lost sec team should get a weighed a little different when it comes to the rankings. As for the up coming game i think what you saw last year agianst the gators is not representive of what our team really is. You guys are going to be in for a surprise when we get on the field if they doubt we have speed!! overall i think it is going to be alot closer than most think, but maybe the tigers in beat us i]by pulling away at the end.

p.s.

I think most of you guys over here visting us our pretty classy and cool!!!
