Allowed to tailgate in Tuttle Park?

I'm bringing about 20-25 HS kids to a game this year. Can't get tickets for them all so I thought I would bring them up, show them the campus, and expose them to gameday. I would like to get there early (like everyone else) and get a spot that we can set up, grill some, get the generator going and watch the game. Even though I've been to several games I'm a bit lost on what areas would be good for this. A friend suggested that I look into tailgating at Tuttle Park to give the kids an area to goof around in. I've never heard of anybody tailgating there nor do I know if it is allowed. I'd have a small tent shelter, generator, grill, tv, etc. Standard stuff.

Any advice?

Also I didn't find a good thread talking about this already. If you know of one please let me know and I'll go to it.

Tuttle Park would be a great place to do it, if you are allowed. Don't know about that. Check with Columbus Parks & Rec. Maybe you can reserve one of the softball diamonds for a "practice" with the kids.

Good idea! A very LONG practice.

I've said for sometime that place would be the IDEAL spot for RV parking. OSU should buy the land from the city and charge $$$$ to park there. I have talked to many RV owners who would have NO PROBLEM paying $1,000 year to park there. They would need to make it a gravel or paved lot to prevent flooding and mud bogs etc a la PSU two years ago!
