That's a perfect characterization of what the attitude towards CFB is up here. To me, its my favorite sport: I'd watch it above anything else. To 95% of the sports fans in the NE, it is at the absolute bottom of the rung behind hockey, golf, & college basketball.
The thing is, we don't have any football powerhouse colleges in the area. Most of the people here went to SUNY or CUNY schools, UConn, etc. Nobody cares.
