Alabama DT Terrence Cody

This guy is an absolute monster at 6-5, 385 lbs.

Did anyone else come away from yesterday's Georgia Alabama game supremely impressed with this kid?

I really don't know much about Ohio State's recruiting - but it's my understanding that Coach T tries to stay away from JUCO kids. Same with Coach Richt. Too many potential things that could go wrong.

However it looks like the gamble is paying off with Cody. Let's see if he's academically fit during bowl season.

Since they say he can dunk a basketball at that weight that's good enough for me. He wouldn't even have to play football if he can dunk.

Let's hope he doesn't try to hang on the rim.

Exactly, it's like Shaq, but check out some his videos on YouTube or wherever, the dude makes tackles with 3 guys blocking him, it's sick. But he does fit better in with a 3-4, being that size.

I was impressed with him in the Clemson game. 1st quarter, he blows up Clemson's OL and tackles the ballcarrier behind the LOS. He looks like the next great NFL NG.

Cody to miss at least 2 weeks for Alabama

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Alabama nose guard Terrence Cody will probably miss at least two games.
Coach Nick Saban said Monday that Cody sustained a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee in the second-ranked Crimson Tide's win over Mississippi.
Saban said Cody's injury is similar to one that sidelined offensive tackle Andre Smith for a game earlier this season. He is expected to miss this week's game at Tennessee and next week's game with Arkansas State. The 365-pounder could be back in time for a game at No. 11 LSU.

IMO this says a lot about the academic integrity of the University of Alabama.

Comedy Hour with Mount Cody - College Football Nation Blog - ESPN

"Later, Cody was talking about being on track to graduate in May and said he still needed two more classes. Somebody asked him what his degree was in. He paused, stammered for a few seconds, looked up and smiled and then muttered something under his breath.

'I keep forgetting it ? consumer science, I think,' Cody said."

How can a person who actually attends class forget his major? Oh, and talking about a blatant attempt at spinning a story (ESPiN)....the title of the story "Comedy Hour With Mount Cody"....personally I don't find lack of academic integrity funny.

Perhaps it might have been better had the young man had his mother spoken publically about colleges creating a major for kids who are destined for professional sports as opposed to making them go to real classes?

I seem to remember that happening somewhere in the not-too-distant past, but I can't put my finger on it?

Cut the kid a break. His father died when he was 11 and he had to leave home at the age of 17 to live with a teammate.
