RB Anthony Rogers: Everyone knows the 5-8, 185-pounder from the class of 2025 can run, but his speed is truly elite. Rogers, an Alabama commit from Montgomery (Ala.) Carver high school, was hand-timed in the low 4.3's during his 40-yard dash attempt. He posted two sub 4.5 times, with one attempt clearly including a poor start. Then he hit the field for one-on-one drills and was nearly unstoppable. He had a great day. He was in the mix for Alpha Dog honors.
Any background on why it took this long to offer him?
Alford had no relationship with him. And Coach Lock does have a relationship with him. It also helps that he's from Lock's hometown. I'm sure we may see some new offers in '25, and a new focus in '26 due to a new coach who's learning about OH talent, and has roots in the deep south and a little on the west coastAny background on why it took this long to offer him?
Reminds me of Dontre Wilson in HSI've only seen a couple clips of this kid.. his burst is EV tier.. kid has serious methane in his butt because he lights it up quick.. he earned that nickname... not Barry Sanders wiggle but he's a bottle rocket in a straight line.. he's not getting caught from behind
My bad. Yeah, just hinting that OSU is out and the ship has sailed on these guysCan we please add context for those of us that check here only for recruiting updates please? Same with Jerome Myles post
I’m aware. My point is what is the info behind it. A lot of us, at least speaking for myself, love this site because it’s clean and informative and a great place to find info as I don’t have time to look at all of the different sites. So I like to know what changed. I never assumed this kid would flip, but a thread was created for a reason and want to know at least a bit as to why it’s no longer an option. ThanksShip has sailed I would guess
Thats a fair point. So, according to Birm, Coach Lock and staff are looking to move on from. No specifics given, but I could guess OSU not wanting to get in an NIL race for a 3rd RB. The Portal looks to be a more realistic option, as the 3rd RB will really mainly be a depth piece with how good Peoples has looked. He’s set to be the RB1 next year, so no reason to give possibly a bigger deal to a 3rd RB over the other 2 RBs in ‘25 that they really like.I’m aware. My point is what is the info behind it.
