    • they almost always have an excellent soccer team... but this is the first time they have ever been rated #1 in the land.. that's big time... they beat OSU and PSU a couple weeks back... in back to back games...

    It's the first time Akron U has ever been rated #1 in any sport at the D-1 level...
    and it's the first time any MAC team has ever been rated # 1 at the D-1 level...

    The Zips have only had 3 losing records in 51 seasons...

    They were always top notch when I was in high school. I remember practicing on one of their practice fields once in high school. Even though it was just a practice field it was the nicest field I had ever walked on.

    Still the best ever was a Akron at Kent basketball game where a former Buckeye who's name I won't mention got "CON-VICT" chanted at him all night long... oh the memories..

    Oh, congrats to the soccer team
