Akron Mid-Week Game thread

The Akron Zips are this week's Wednesday opponent for the Buckeyes.

The Zips will enter the contest with a record of 15-19 after a 3 game sweep at the hands of MAC Conference opponent Eastern Michigan. This is not one to go to sleep on - the Buckeyes record against the MAC last year was anything but stellar (2-3).

The game will be on Wednesday, April 21st. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 PM and can be heard on the Official Site ($)

Yike has been fairly effective in midweek games for the Zips,. He did a good job holding down a good Pitt team last week..

I guess we may start Mckinney....I dunno, though. Has anybody seen brett around campus lately? CBT has had him encased in carbonite since the xavier game. I was really wanting to see him in relief of wolosianky on sunday. Best has always had trouble against Sparty.

Just when you think our guys are about to turn the corner...

The good news is that we still have a shot at an at large...we have6 games left against the RPI top 50...so there is a chance.

lack of pitching depth is why we struggle in midweek games, and even if we make a regional and win a couple of game we won't have anything left for Sunday. Same deal with the b10 tourney..without a bye we have little to no chance of winning it...imo
