Tim Dwight's not slow. Neither is A.J. Hawk, Bobby Carpenter, Anthony Schlegal, Brandon Stokley, Drew Tate, Drew Stanton, that WR from Notre Dame, white soccer players, most white rugby players, etc. etc.
White guys aren't slow, black people are just faster.
You got something against Anthony Gonzalez? Or is he Mexican?Buckeye513 said:Tim Dwight's not slow. Neither is A.J. Hawk, Bobby Carpenter, Anthony Schlegal, Brandon Stokley, Drew Tate, Drew Stanton, that WR from Notre Dame, white soccer players, most white rugby players, etc. etc.

According to the US Census bureau Gonzalez could be Mexican and White. Being Hispanic does not include someone in a racial category. It puts someone into a cultural category, due to the fact that many Hispanics could have White, Black, Asian/Pacific Islander, or Native American descent. You got something against Anthony Gonzalez? Or is he Mexican?
And the pussification of America continues. Pretty soon, no one will be able to say anything about anybody unless you are in their group (i.e. whites talk about whites, blacks talk about blacks, etc.). It's to the point where two people can't even have a standard discussion and disagreement about the finer points of a completely innocuous topic like admissions requirements without someone being branded a racist. It's pathetic, really.
Funny, this gets national media uproar, and yet a guy who used to be an instructor at NC State can say white people "nned to be exterimated off the face of the earth" and it barely receives any media attention. Go figure.
You can thank the liberal media for this phenomenon.
By acknowledging a stupid stereotype and associating a positive attribute with a particular race doesn't make DeBerry's comments acceptable by any means. The fact is he indirectly slighted another race with an assumption that just isn't true. It simply doesn't matter which race he felt his team needed to be faster; the fact that he believes this ridiculous stereotype is moronic. What he said is no less idiotic than if he said, "Our team doesn't play very intelligently. We could really use some more (insert any race here) to help us play smarter." Believing race=speed is as stupid as thinking one race may be more intelligent, cleaner, better at fixing watches, or cheaper than another. The only thing more pathetic than the fact that these stereotypes still persist is the idiots who try to apologize for them and blame others for being too sensitive.
