Agent Josh Luchs coming forward, spilling the beans for SI

When I read the article yesterday, I thought it was wrong to include an allegation against somebody based on the guy saying he was already taking money from another agent. They could be told that simply because the person saying it wanted to have them go away. It doesn't prove that the player that said that was guilty of anything, and shouldn't have been included along with the stuff they have about giving things directly to other players.

If they were actually talking about somebody besides Santonio, it's pathetic to include the name of a Super Bowl MVP as a case of mistaken identity.

He (Josh Luchs) was just interviewed on Mike & Mike. It was not Santonio Holmes, but another player with the last name Holmes. He did not say the player's name however...

He actually states that he never PAID Santonio Holmes, but reaffirms the story of Santonio telling him not to bother as the original article states. He claims he actually paid another play by the name Holmes.

Luchs was suspended for a year by the NFL Players Association in 2007 over the handling of a commission check. He says he's telling his story because "I don't want my career to be defined by that suspension."

What the fuck? So, he doesn't want his 'career to be defined by that suspension', rather he wants it defined by his paying of college players?

What a dumbass.

Yep. What he really means to say is he since he can no longer be an agent he wants to write a book...and hopes this lil SI article will get him a book deal.

Yeah, I think Holmes was only added in there because, of all the players mentioned, he is the one that has star power right now.

the thing that worries me is that there is never just one person receiving benefits. if someone did receive them at osu (even though i don't think any ever did) it is likely that others did as well. tressel runs a classy program who has never had a whiff of recruiting violations. i think this guy is just trying to make a name for himself and wants to take down people who ticked him off in the past.

You don't? That's a little naive.

My main issue is this ... noted in different articles, but now connected via the same man (Luchs), we have the biggest trouble maker during Tressel's career while at OSU (Clarett), and I have heard some not very good things about Holmes as well while at OSU, regarding his attitude ...

So while I hope it's not true, just from the things I've heard, if it is true it doesn't surprise me. I hold Clarett and Holmes in the same light as Erik Haw, Louis Irizarry, etc.. as far as behavior is concerned from when they were on campus.

If you read the article, he says something like "I was a good agent. I took care of my players."

He doesn't feel like he did anything wrong. He's on the other side of the fence and doesn't realize that this will tarnish his reputation (and others') much more than a suspension that nobody gave a shit about.

Great story, though.

Luchs lists more than 20 other players he says he paid:
Michigan State's Tony Banks;
Arizona's Rob Waldrop;
Tennessee's Chuck Webb;
Portland State's Darick Holmes;
Illinois' Mel Agee;
USC's Travis Claridge, Phalen Pounds, R. Jay Soward and Delon Washington; Colorado's Kanavis McGhee, Joel Steed and Greg Thomas;
Washington State's Leon Bender, Torey Hunter, Singor Mobley and John Rushing; and
UCLA's Chris Alexander, Ryan Fien, Carl Greenwood, Othello Henderson, Vaughn Parker, Matt Soenksen and Bruce Walker.

A virtual who the fuck is that of college football.... maybe if you paid better players you wouldnt need a book deal.

The only thing they could do to get attention to the story is say Santanio Holmes said no cause he was already hooked up.
