After seeing yesterdays game what games scare you now?

These are my exact concerns on defense. On offense, Troy telegraphs the hand off about 3 steps out. That would be OK, if it looked the same on play action, but it doesn't. He doesn't hold the ball out the same on PA, he just tends to duck his head. He needs to work on making it look the same on both. Minor though...the offense looks great!

The fact that all we can talk about on offense is little things like that is pretty sweet, IMO. Troy made one or two bad decisions for the course of the entire game. One was almost picked off when he forced a pass to Ginn when Gonzo was open over the middle. The other must of been a miscommunication cause he lobbed a perfect pass to the endzone...but there wasn't anyone there to catch it. Aside from that, he was perfect. Troy will get pressured on the 9th, but that's when Troy shines. I can't wait!

But yeah, I saw on punt/kick coverage and defense, that a lot of the guys were running themselves out of the play, over pursuing and all that. Missed tackles and whatnot could cost us games if our offense isn't doing well. If we can get by Texas, then there is no reason we can't play for and win the NC.

they have had a lot more practices under the lights this year, but still kind of hoping the past does not reapear

Texas and scUM are the only games I'm slightly worried about. Texas, because they are at home, and scUM because its a rivalry game and they always play us tough.

But as far as our defense, I'm not really worried. Wolfe is probably the best running back in the country, hands down. I believe we'll be ready to go and pumped up for next week. Ginn and Smith won't let us lose next week, they want revenge more than we do, and they want a championship. If we win next week, I don't see us having much of a problem with anyone else this year, regardless of Iowa and PSU, we are light years better than both of those teams, no need to worry about them really. GO BUCKEYES!!! :oh: :io:

What game am I worried about? The next one. And then the next one, etc. until we play the Domers in the BCS Bowl. Seriously........

Haven't a clue what Heacock and Fickell were doing with the D, other than seeing which guys would gel together. Too many substitutions for me to see any sort of cohesion being developed. That will either pay big dividends this week end against Texas (I hope), or we're in for a big let down from the 'normal' OSU defense that we've gotten accustomed to.

Texas, as they're a national caliber team. Iowa, nah, they've got a very good Q-back, but their O-line is very new (talented, but no cohesion yet). Penn State, nah, MOrelli didn't impress.

Michigan State is the one. They've got more personalities than a schizophrenic. They play like world beaters one game, and then like a high school jv team the next. Methinks they'll be 'up' for NOtre Dame, Michigan, and OSU. And they've got a habit of bouncing us... And then Michigan. From all I read, Carr is on the hot seat, and as those of us old enough to remember the Cooper era, a win against Michigan was enough to keep his job. Same with Lllloyd. And if I remember correctly, their recruits are usually rated higher than our recruits. We've got the better coaching staff, true, but there's alot of Ohio boys on that starting team that would love to shut up their 'homies' when they come home for Thanksgiving break.....

Texas, MSU and Meatchicken. And then Notre Dame, if they can survive....(actually, I'm now predicting a rematch with Texas)........for the BCS championship.

I'm not worried about any particular game, but beating (at) Texas, Penn State, and (at) Iowa in a span of 4 weeks is never going to be easy, no matter what season it is...and this one in particular.

Make it past that, and teams like Michigan State don't worry me as much...Idaho made them look silly for much of that game, and if we're on a roll, they can't beat us.

Until Saturday I was scared that we had lost too much on defense to go undefeated and that we might get thumped by Texas or Michigan. We may loose a game this season but we won't get thumped and I feel that the chance of going unbeaten is much more realistic.

Craig James stated that in talking to the guys on the offense... guys who have lined up against this year's defense beaucoup times... they all stated that this year's defense has more speed. I didn't see that on Saturday, but I'll take their word on it.

My list hasn't changed.

1. Texas - It's in Austin. They saw what Wolfe did to the Ohio State defense. They saw how Ohio State took advantage of Northern Illinois' defense. Texas's defense won't get beat as easily or as often as Northern Illinois was. Texas will do what they can to create their own Garrett Wolfe. Ohio State has to force Texas's young quarterback to carry the team, and then smash him. Meanwhile, they have to slap the Texas defense around early, often, and not stop until the game is over (none of this "we're up by 4 td's in the 2nd quarter, let's just coast to the end now").

2. Iowa - Ohio State got revenge last year for the thumping from two years ago. Maybe Iowa sees this game as a time to get revenge for last year. Drew Tate may have been nothing in the 'Shoe last year, but he's going to face a younger defense that won't frustrate him as much. Ohio State may need 40 points to win this game.

3. Michigan State - They've beated Ohio State in every way except the score the past 2 years. Stanton seems to be able to do anything and everything EXCEPT win the game. As a senior, I have to think he'll figure that part out pretty soon.

I'm only so-so worried about these games:

4. Penn State - The game is in Columbus, but Penn State should have a pretty good defense. Ohio State should have a pretty good defense. I don't see Penn State winning, but stranger things have happened.

5. Michigan - This one is also in Columbus. Maybe I'm just used to Cooper's games against Michigan, but I don't know that I'm ever going to be comfortable before a game against Michigan. Ohio State might be 11-0 going into the game, and Michigan 4-7. I'll be somewhat worried. But Tressel seems to know what he's doing against Michigan. Michigan should have an improved defense, but the offense looks to me pretty flat, considering the players who should have break-out years.

No one else worried me.
