AFC Wildcard: Steelers(-8.5) at Broncos

So the blown call on the lateral leads to a Steelers TD.

That call completely changed the game, in favor of the Steelers.

Surprise, surprise...:roll2:

It wasn't reviewable because the whistle blew and no one had possession

If there is a "clear recovery" they can award the ball to the other team even if the whistle blows, but that only applies to plays where a runner fumbles the ball. On a play called an incomplete pass it does not apply.

Safe to say, that rule needs reassessed this offseason for plays like the one we just saw.

Not a fumble - by fiat.

I love that reasoning - "It's not reviewable because we already ruled on it.". What's the fucking point of replay if you're going to refuse to use it on that basis?

They need to go to the college rule where if the whistle didn't affect who recovered the fumble, they allow the recovery.

A lateral not possessed is a fumble
