Advice on where to eat in Columbus...

I've eaten at the blue nile. I didn't like it. But I didn't have much taste back when I was in Columbus. There's a new Ethiopian place in Pittsburgh called Abay which is real good so I'm sure I'd like the Blue Nile if I went again.

Tibs,

What kind of food are you looking for for dinner?

Also, I'd highly suggest 1st Watch for breakfast if you want some post breakfast poontang.

Place had AWESOME breakfast. When my wife lived on 1st we went there. It's been closed for a good 2-3 years.

As you can guess, I don't get down there as often anymore. :)

Too bad, though. Never got there for breakfast, but we used to go there for the steak dinner. $8.95 for the special, if I remember right, and their menu was about 20 pages long.

I'd second the Indian Oven recommendation.

If you really want to stay in or around the Short North, though, there's always Martini, though for great pasta, I'd head to Due Amici on Gay Street. They've also opened a Hyde Park in the Short North.

well, I think I"ve been to 1st watch, but not entirely sure. Yes, that would be a good idea. I could always hit TeeJay's on the way back from cincinnati on sunday...there is one right near the 71 and 270 interchange.

Looking for anything eclectic, i.e. the type of place you'd take a first date. Not Indian or Thai. No steakhouses.

1st watch is on S. High just south of 70, kind of across the street from Victory's.
