That car does nothing for me. Good thing too, because I cannot afford it. Also I noticed it is an automatic, what a waste.

I'm gonna assume it's some kind of auto-stick with paddles or something.
Can't see a rocketship like that having a strictly-automatic transmission.

That'd be like pinstriping it using using duct tape...

I like GM's concept behind my Cobalt SS Turbo...
You have your choice of stick-shift, manual transmission, or 5-speed transmission - automatic need not apply

Most performance Mercedes are manual, IIRC.

The SLR uses AMG SPEEDSHIFT R 5-speed automatic transmission with 3 manual modes. For durability Mercedes selected a 5-speed transmission rather than their 7-speed gearbox which was more complex and used more parts.
Here is the steering wheel of that model:

Apologies the Mercedes lovers, but from the side, that shit is FUGLY.
The hood is looooooonger than hell - makes the car look totally out of proportion.

If I was to drop a half-mil on a car, it definitely wouldn't be on this ugly beast.

It's about as long as one.

Don't get me wrong - SOME cars look nice with that elongated hood - but this ain't one of 'em.
There's like an abrupt end at the cabin ( I WAS gonna say cockpit, but shit, that's just BEGGING for it! Guess I did anyways!)

The current Maserati coupes have that elongated nose, but not to the cartoonish extreme of the SLR...

If you can afford a $420,000 car you don't worry about the mileage.

The real question is: Now many chicks can you pick up with it?

Only one at a time, unfortunately, unless they like lap-riding, which is a whole other level altogether! In which case, $420K is a BARGAIN!

Question for anyone that would know...

Which option is preferable to the dealer - a buyer paying cash for a car, or financing through the manufacturer? I could see how cash is nice and easy, no need to worry about the buyer's credit, etc. But I could also see the dealer getting some type of incentive for financing because the manufacturer would make money back on the interest over the life of the loan.
