Hall of Fame
Former ESPN on-air personality Adrian Karsten was found dead in his Green Lake, Wisc. home on Friday. He was 45.
Police have not determined a cause of death but said foul play was not suspected. An autopsy is expected to be performed next week.
Karsten last worked at ESPN as a college football sideline reporter in 2003.
On July 8, Karsten was sentenced to 11 months in federal prison followed by nine months of home confinement, following his guilty plea to two counts of failing to file federal income taxes. Federal prosecutors alleged Karsten failed to file income tax returns for the years 1999 through 2002.
It is not known when Karsten was due to begin serving his sentence.

ESPN REPORTER SUICIDE

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

New York Post

FORMER ESPN reporter Adrian Karsten, facing a prison tax rap, was found dead, an apparent suicide, in his Wisconsin home, officials said yesterday.

Cops declined to provide details but Karsten's ex-wife told The Post that investigators have labeled it a suicide.

Karsten pleaded guilty in July to failing to report about $607,000 in income he made as a sideline reporter for ESPN college football games between 1999 and 2002.

He was sentenced to serve 11 months in prison and nine months home confinement.

He was supposed to report to a federal lockup in Rochester, Minn., last Thursday but never showed up, his ex-wife said. — David K. Li

"Holy shit" is all I have to say...

I don't know anyone that likes to pay taxes, but you need to do it. What the heck was he thinking about? Maybe he was thinking that ESPN was going to bounce him out and make all sideline reports be hot babes.

Hey, maybe we can get answers from beyond the grave.

Sorta sad, but the beginning of a person that doesn't care anymore is no longer paying taxes. Why pay taxes when you now you are damn close to ending it anyway?

I'm one of those dumbasses that allows the government to hold my money until I reclaim it later. Doesn't make financial sense, but I always know the IRS doesn't have shit on me. They would be more than happy if I never claimed. I rush to the mailbox in January to get my statements of interest on real estate and my W2's. Of course if I was a financial genius I would pay taxes later.
