I see and I'm just happy he's in. I'm more pissed off with ncaa and the teaching that goes on in this country. Young people really have to have there stuff together because, the education in this country is pathetic

Right. Because it's Ray's teachers who are at fault for him being a borderline recruit :shake: Why is the education in this country pathetic?

I think you are right...I believe English and math are based on ACT scores somewhat, math has a skills test, but depending on your ACT score you are given different tests...I believe English places you in 110 or remedial English but don't recally any testing other than ACT scores

There is a math placement test given to incoming freshman. The results of that test, along with courses taken at the high school level, are used for placement. ACT test scores can be used for placement purposes and some opt for that route if it gives a higher placement.

Why be pissed at the NCAA? For having a minimum standard?!?

While I have observed first hand some pathetic teachers at the HS level, making a blanket statement like yours is erroneous. Somewhere along the way, people need to realize that they will get out of their education exactly what they put into it, and it doesn't matter if that education occurs at a Big Ten school or at an Ivory League school.

Do you know what qualifications a person needs to be on a board of education? Well I'll tell you: Exactly none. Anyone can be on a board of education and they can make any statements they like about the state of education.

Are you blaming the teachers for the fact that kids are "protected?" If a teacher and school system has the support of their board of education then they can have all the discipline they want.

This is off topic, obviously, but it's just ignorant to indict an entire profession (teaching) with zero facts to back up your statements. You have indicted the same Glenville teachers who produced Ray Small and Bryant Browning. How do you account for the fact that Ray struggled to make it and Bryant excels in the classroom? I know!! Bryant just got lucky and got the good Glenville teachers.

You guys are getting way off topic...

If these articles are indeed correct, and Ray is in. I am a very happy man!! This of course is aided slightly by the fact that the air in the house is set on 65, I don't have to go to work until Wednesday, and their is a cooler packed to bursting with ice and beer in the garage.
