Re: Trev Alberts
ESPN canned him when he failed to show up for work on their Thursday night game in Week 2. His no show was a protest of his use and lack of time, ESPN terminated him on the spot for breech of contract.
Many people have concluded that his complaints centered around Herbie and Corso, but that is not entirely true. What he was upset about was that 1) the studio guys were supposed to get *some* airtime during the GameDay location pieces, but most of this wound up going to Desmond Howard and Nick Lachey, and 2) Mark May was a studio analyst on Sunday morning SportsCenter, while Alberts got the ESPN SportsNation weekly chat (no face time there).
Alberts felt used, because the essence was that ESPN rarely utilized him for "special" studio segments like just abount every other ESPN personality gets, outside of when Solich was fired from Nebraska and the search for a new NU coach began.
