Today, or I guess I should say saturday, I took the opportunity to be a small part of this big recruiting weekend. I took part in a pep band that played for the recruits and their families as they ate lunch. It was kind of cool to be a small part of the process and get just a glimpse of the treatment given to these guys. The lunch was catered by City Barbecue, and included ribs, chicken, pulled pork, baked potatoes, macaroni, salad, cornbread, and more. This was all served in the lobby of the Woody Hayes Athletic Center, giving the recruits plenty of time o take in all the awards (you think it's a bad thing to make a recruit squeeze between Heisman trophy cases on their way from the beverage table to their seat near the 2002 National championship sitting in the middle of the room?). Needless to say the food was great as the band was left fighting for the scraps once the recruits were gone, and I still got a great meal. Anyway, just thought you might like what very little insight I can provide.
