"other than a playoff nothing really works. in fact, even a playoff would be a tough sell. so we take teams 1 - 16 for the playoffs. and what if #17 has a better record than #14?"
Who the hell cares about No. 17? Or No. 9 if it was an eight-team format. And you're sitting there defending the BCS, which this season, has screwed the No. 3 team! And you're saying a playoff is no good because an even-lower team would get hosed? Get real man.
"as hated as it is, the only logical solution is the bcs or a system like it."
Um, no it's not. Look at every other level of football. Playoffs seem to work just fine.
And I'm sorry, the AP Poll will always be taken more seriously than the "SID/Asst Coaches Poll."

), and have always thought that system should return. I realize that many schools play weaker non-conference games at the start of the season, so their team strength may not be completely revealed. Of course, there are conferences out there where playing conference games may be considered the weakness. I just think the team should have to prove themselves on the field (what is), not before the season even starts (what might be). Anyways, this has no real ties to the original thread subject, but hey...I don't have that many posts and this seemed like a good place to throw my two cents worth in.
