NEW YORK (AP) - Scott Boras loves the World Series so much, he wants to make it best-of-nine - and open with two games at a neutral site.

Arguing that the shift would create a marketing bonanza that would rival the Super Bowl, Boras outlined his ideas in a two-page letter he sent to baseball commissioner Bud Selig on April 15.

Unfortunately for baseball, Selig is dumb enough to do it.

The World Series is already struggling when it's up against the NFL, much less College Football.

If they want to do this, maybe they should shorten the regular season by a week or two...

You mean that I would have to suffer through 9 of those annoying games, instead of just 1? I think I'd watch about 1 inning of each. By increasing it to best-of-9, I think everyone like me, who tunes in for no reason other than because TV sucks and there's nothing else on, would just suffer through more CSI re-runs.

I think my biggest problem with baseball is that a team that finishes the regular season only 4 games above .500 can be named "World Champions." And it's not just baseball - it happens in other sports, too. But I think it's biggest in baseball.

Personally, I think they should move back to about 16 teams. Improve the overall quality of the games. Of course, I'd probably be a little annoyed if one of the 14 teams to be eliminated was the Indians.

That's what I'd like to see. Moving to six divisions and adding the wild card screwed the post season all up, not discounting the 162 game schedule.

Really though, I'd just be happy if the WS wasn't on FOX anymore. Fuck. Words fail to describe my hatred of Joe Buck and Tim McCarver.
