The best possible ending to a spring football game.

Ohio State fans are no stranger to the heroic story of Buckeye superfan Jacob Jarvis.

Jarvis, a young man who’s battled Duchenne muscular dystrophy, has been a staple of the Ohio State football program during Urban Meyer’s time in Columbus. Former Ohio State (now Denver Broncos) tight end Jeff Heuerman forged a special bond with Jarvis and his family and during the Buckeyes’ 2014 national title run, Jarvis was seen just about everywhere with the team.

If our heartstrings didn’t need an even deeper tug, we got one during the end of the Buckeyes’ 2017 spring football game. On the final play of the final drive, OSU starter J.T. Barrett returned to the game, with a familiar face at running back: Jarvis.

After getting the handoff from Jarvis, the young man booked it to the end zone where he was mobbed by his Ohio State teammates. What an incredible moment for Buckeye Nation and sports fan everywhere alike:

According to 97.1 The Fan’s Lori Schmidt, a handful of Buckeye upperclassmen lobbied the coaching staff to end the game on what is now being called “The Jacob Special.”

Jacob Jarvis, who is battling MD, said Jalyn Holmes, Tyquan Lewis and JT Barrett lobbied for him to be able to score a TD today... 1/2
