A/C or Windows down?

Allergies means A/C 99% of the time. I did have the windows down on the rental car the first few days of my trip, but that was more because someone had been smoking in it before me and I was trying to get rid of the smell a bit quicker than anything else.

I like the fresh air, but my understanding is that it is actually more economical to use A/C than to ride with the windows down.
