_ichigan Stadium (bomb ann arbor now!)

Michigan Stadium to remain dry

The Big House will remain dry, as the University of Michigan isn't planning to permit alcohol sales at its football stadium.
Athletic director Dave Brandon told The Ann Arbor News that Michigan Stadium will remain alcohol-free. The liability and risk of serving alcohol at a stadium where many fans are under the legal drinking age are among the factors that drove the decision, Brandon said.

"You've got to set up places to vendor this stuff, and you've got to make sure you're selling it to the right people, not the wrong people, and then you've got to deal with all the ramifications of alcohol being served in an area where you've got a lot of young people and a lot of underage people," Brandon said.

3 arrested, 14 ejected as 103,000 people watch U-M fall to Utah

After three games, Michigan Stadium is still yet to sell out after 103,890 people watched the University of Michigan fall to Utah Saturday afternoon.

University of Michigan Division of Public Safety and Security spokeswoman Diane Brown released the attendance figures Sunday. The announced attendance was a slight increase from last week’s game against Miami (Ohio), when 102,824 people watched the Wolverines win.

The streak of crowds of more than 100,000 at The Big House is now at 255 games. The season opener against Appalachian State drew 106,811 fans, the highest amount through the first three games of this season.

Michigan Stadium's official capacity is 109,901.

Brown said three people were arrested in the crowd on Saturday, all for being minors in possession of alcohol. Fourteen people were ejected — six for disorderly conduct, five for having alcohol in the stadium, two for violating stadium rules and one for possession of another person’s identification.

One person received a verbal warning for bringing alcohol into the stadium.
