While I don't agree with all of your take, you do bring up a great point (that I hadn't considered) concerning the media and public scrutiny/hysteria. I'm not sure I'd want cameras and demonstrators interfering with my kid's day at school either.
I agree with this part, but also my concern would be with either a children not old enough to understand what was going on with teh situation being exposed to it. It could really confuse a child as far as what is going on and why mr so and so is now mrs so and so. And then with older children esp the high school or jr high level you would ahve to worry about how much it would interfere with the actual teaching. Yes he was a good teacher before but we all know how hs kids can be...would having this teacher make it harder to learn because of the comments that would be flying around? would he/she still be able to be able to a effective teacher, or would the whispers and such take away form the classroom.
