Game Thread #7 tOSU 18, Purdue 26 (Oct 17, Noon ET, BTN)

Game over. Can't let them get in field goal range like that. We just weren't ready to play and Purdue was, so hats off to them. I'm starting to wonder if this won't end up being much like the '04 year...I just think we're too inexperienced and ineffective on offense to really be considered a BCS team. The D is great but no D can be expected to perform well when they are on the field 75% of the time.

And that's probably ballgame.

Yeah. Don't see an escape happening today.

I'd like to see a commitment to the run by this team. Ohio State seems to want so badly to prove that Pryor is a passer that they are abandoning an offensive strategy that can make this team dangerous.

Third and 15, PU, on our 45.

We rush 3 and drop back 8. The seas part and the QB runs for 12 yards, setting up a FG. That defense seemed more like a "playing not to lose" approach versus a "playing to win" approach, which surprises me given the talent on defense.

Purdue has been the aggressor most of the day, and the scoreboard shows it.

I just don't understand it, guys. 1st and goal from the three, and THE Ohio State University doesn't hand the ball off once? And down by 16 with under 12:00 to play and we feel that a field goal is sufficient? I love what this staff has done for tOSU football, but today their play calling has been . . . controversial. . . .

Yeah when TP didn't get the TD I knew this would happen. Why not have TP take it 4 times from the 3 in that situation?? 3 yards in 4 tries is .75 yards per try... I hate how we can't punch it in when we need to... 10 minutes left GO BUCKS!!! make it happen...
