#7 Georgetown 70, #2 Ohio State 52 - NCAA Tournament (Final)

I think its amazing that we have actually made it this far. No one expected we would have been this good this year and if they say they did their lying. One other think to look at is the fact that Georgetown wasnt supposed to be as good as they are this year either. I think it will be a good matchup, if i had to make a prediction i would say.

I don't understand if you guys dont think we are good enough to beat GTown, why were ppl bitching we should of been ranked higher than teams during the season.

We are so much quicker than GTown and will be able to run them. Dials will much the big guy around inside and Green will have height on Sully but he doesnt use that to his advantage to shoot over ppl.

N.Iowa is a mirror image of us, just not as talented and they were cotrolling the game for the first half.

We have one of the best coaches and 4 seniors, and they have a very inexperienced coach.

We will get it done.

There's a difference between "being good enough" and "playing good enough", i.e. executing. You think that Davidson is talented enought to hang with us like that 10 games out of 10? No way.

We need to play like we were about three weeks ago, when we'd work for a shot and if we didn't first get an open shot in fairly close, we'd take--and make--the three.

Do you think NW St. beats Iowa 10 out of 10 times. It is David and Goliath, it is how the tourney is, We didnt play terrible we just werent hitting our shots. I mean ppl say Dials didnt get his shots in teh first half but he was 3/12 or something bad like that. He was rushing it too much. You could see the nerves. Davidson was also getting some lucky breaks when Dials tipped the ball in for them, Butler missed a pair of freethrows, so did Lewis.

You can't reall base how we will play our next game off how we played today b/c there were so many factors.

Another huge factor will be the crowd, which was very pro buckeye today, they said 3 quarters was buckeye fans.

GTown has played their worst on the road, they even lost to USF on the road. There isnt going to be as much pressure on us and we will be ready.

GTown will have pressure on them to, b/c they think they can go on, and it is not just go out and give it your all and see what happens, like a Davidson.

I think that we would be foolish not to expect G'town to come out and blow their wad. Every game is a one time shot. No team in this tournament has anything to lose. That is why there are always several good games and poor teams play excellent teams very very tough.

Not expecting them to just go out and there and not play, I am just saying that they are not going to be liek a Davidson that is just happy to be there and and can just go out and wing it with no pressure of moving on.

how many games have you seen today where teams are losing or barely beating teams they should demolish? We are clearly beatable, much moreso than we were earlier in the year, but we have seen hardly any blowouts after two full days of competition.
Bingo. A "David" almost beat us, and so a more proven team like Georgetown will play us even tougher. And to me, not hitting shots is playing terrible...
shots? or threes? I thought we looked great on offense in the second half. Great ball movement, penetration, riding our star, shooting with confidence, etc. We did not rely on the three at all. The first half was ugly, no two ways about it. Then again, we've seen a lot of teams start out much like our squad did.

I saw a lot of weaknesses in GTown's play as well. They can be sloppy with the ball, which is a bad idea with our quick handed defenders (lewis, foster, sully, butler... even dials can poke a few away at times). Can they get back when we try and run on fast breaks?

Dials definitely showed serious nerves in the first half. The game slowed down after halftime, and he dominated.

If twigs can give us some good minutes, that will be huge. There were a number of times this year where Dials was struggling and Twigs provided a spark off of the bench. He also brings a change of pace with his excellent 18 foot jumper.

While I agree that for some odd reason that pressure does exist, it is really, quite inexplicable. My point was that every team SHOULD be going out there and playing like there is no pressure of moving on, becasue if they don't win, there's not.

I'm glad to be seeing people taking a realistic approach.

The fact is we will have a difficult time winning Sunday if we don't shoot better.

My money is still on the Bucks, but I am very nervous with the matchup issues we will have.
