how many games have you seen today where teams are losing or barely beating teams they should demolish? We are clearly beatable, much moreso than we were earlier in the year, but we have seen hardly any blowouts after two full days of competition.
Bingo. A "David" almost beat us, and so a more proven team like Georgetown will play us even tougher. And to me, not hitting shots is playing terrible...
shots? or threes? I thought we looked great on offense in the second half. Great ball movement, penetration, riding our star, shooting with confidence, etc. We did not rely on the three at all. The first half was ugly, no two ways about it. Then again, we've seen a lot of teams start out much like our squad did.
I saw a lot of weaknesses in GTown's play as well. They can be sloppy with the ball, which is a bad idea with our quick handed defenders (lewis, foster, sully, butler... even dials can poke a few away at times). Can they get back when we try and run on fast breaks?
Dials definitely showed serious nerves in the first half. The game slowed down after halftime, and he dominated.
If twigs can give us some good minutes, that will be huge. There were a number of times this year where Dials was struggling and Twigs provided a spark off of the bench. He also brings a change of pace with his excellent 18 foot jumper.
