#5 VCU +2.5 vs #4 TSUN (ov/un 142.5) Sat 12:15 CBS

VCU shot 30% (10-33) from the field & 1-8 from deep. Not going to cut it, especially when there pressure defense has completely fallen apart. Probably not going to stay this cold forever, but a 15 point halftime deficit looks daunting, especially playing at the Palace where it's probably 99% UM fans. Hoping for the huge comeback, but not expecting it. UM has to completely fall apart for VCU to have a chance & they don't look like capitulating at all today.

They have no answer for McGary. He's destroying them on the boards & in the paint.

Trey Burke should be a top 10 pick in the draft. Kid is actually underrated nationally, even as Big 10 player of the year. Not many PG's can carve up this press so easily. It's been pretty impressive to watch.....

He has like 5 turnovers in the second half already trying to break it.

No idea why VCU think constantly double-teaming is going to work. UM has found the open guy virtually every time & McGary is the guy being left alone. UM is missing some good looks, but with McGary being unguarded, it's not that hard for him to eat up all the offensive rebounds & easy put backs.

McGary dominating yet again and playing with the fire and physicality that Beilein teams typically lack, like they did frequently this March as McGary was scolded on the bench.

I would love to hear an explanation from beilein for why he has kept the fire of his team under wraps while never limiting Robinsons playing time. GrIII hasn't been a good player let alone an bonafide starter for months yet he continues to get the nod. A good coach would put McGary at the four when he needs Morgan's leadership and djscipline at the five.

Robinson hasn't shot, defended or boxed out properly in months. But hey, he can dunk :so:

When VCU gets 15+ turnovers they win. When they don't, they lose.

scUM has 11 so far but 4 more turnovers won't save the Rams on this day. Maybe if they can force 14 more the rest of the way they could make a game of it. :shake:

Vcu is quick and pesky but that isn't how you beat Michigan with defense. You beat them physically and emotionally until they start to cry uncle

You can also capitalize on their defensive lapses by knocking down open looks, neither of which Vcu is showing any ability to do today.

Credit to Michigan for playing with heart, urgency and tenacity, something they often do not.

What I noticed, in this first game Saturday, Charles Barkley has lost his voice on the weekend three years in a row.

He's been the only one to lose their voice (on the weekend) three years in a row too.

But he talked for 12 hours Thursday and Friday. Still, he's the only one.

Nike assumed they wouldn't be playing for very long?

Edit: is it Nike or Adidas?

The Athletic Department has been Adidas since Rich Rod took over.

The A-10 about to go 6-1. Not a coincidence that now that the teams they play are better, their record will suffer.

UM was a bad matchup for VCU. But probably any of the top teams in the B1G would've been a bad matchup for VCU because they don't turn the ball over.

UM going to party like it's 1994 ... the last time they made the S16.
