#5 Ohio State (25-8) vs #4 Gonzaga (31-4) - Saturday, March 17 @ ~7:45 ET (CBS)

Pretty appropriate ending all in all. A team with limitations, intermittent brains, streaky shooting, and gallons of heart fought to the end and ultimately got beat by some obnoxious opponent shotmaking. I'll assume that KBD is gone, but for our sake, and possibly his, I'd love to see him come back, improve his handle and aggressiveness, get us back in the Dance, and get himself into the bottom of the lottery.

Edit: Oh, and pick up his Masters while he's at it.
Well said, Jag. This team certainly turned around under Holtmann, but I'm hoping he can take them even farther. Great year, Bucks. Proud of you.

One more note. Looking at how this team lost games this season, especially on defense, if I could have had one past Buckeye added to this team, it would have been Aaron Craft.

Defense lapsed at time for sure. But when clutch hand in face step back 3s/shots for the opponent are falling there is really not much you can do.

In the end, I didn't expect this team to be here, didn't expect them to beat Gonzaga, and certainly didn't expect them to have a lead on the Zags with 8:00 left on the clock, and that was before spotting them 15 points.

Played poorly the first six minutes and last six minutes, but overall... this team achieved far more than anyone could have expected and played at high level with a massive talent disadvantage in most of their games this season.

If a tournament berth and a first round win were unrealistic expectations before the season even tipped off, there's certainly no reason to be disappointed now.

Just no answer for Hachimura and Norvell. No shame in that.

Bucks outscored them 67-47 to go up by five after spotting them 15, but what's often forgotten is the effort it takes to overcome such a deficit. It took a lot out of our Buckeyes and, to their credit, Gonzaga made some tough shots.

Still, I'll always love this team. When Thad was dismissed in summer it was like...WTF? Who are we going to get now? Coach Holtmann looks like a great hire. The kids he inherited bought into what he's selling, and had a better season than anyone realistically expected. It hurts to lose, but the boys made me proud.

When we had the lead at 58-54 after that swing I thought we for sure had them buried. Sucks. I'm not even sure if I can watch the rest of the tournament.
You have to expect them to answer with a run of their own. The Bucks just didn't have the depth to keep up. I really would've like to have seen how the game played out if the Bucks had started strong.

I'm looking forward to next year. I couldn't say that last year. The Bucks are fun to watch again and things are looking up. Hopefully Holtmann can recruit.
