Because it was clearly communicated by the staff to set the tone early on McGary. My guess is they didn't say to throw a cock-punch, but they wanted some type of physical action to let McGary know they didn't come to Dallas to get knocked on their asses by his hard-ass screens.

If you're Bill Self you were probably hoping for more of a LeBron on Boozer plow to send a message instead of a caught on camera nut-shot, but I'm not sure you can punish your own guy after he carried out the gameplan.

I don't disagree...it was dirty as hell. If thi sgame gets ugly I'd expect Michigan to return the favor.

kinda similar to us last night, in that Michigan has to be hapopy to only be down 6.

Unfortunaetly for Michigan, when we gave up 38 points in the first half, everyone knew Arizona couldn't repeat that type of scoring output in the second half. Michigan could easily give up another 40 point half because they just aren't that good defensively.

And yeah, Belein's substitution pattern is insane. Michigan goes on a mini-run led by Trey Burke getting into the paint twice and setting McGary up with easy buckets, so what does Belein do? Substitutes Burke out at the next whistle right when he finally has a nice rhythm and good flow going. Genius!

It seemed like UM players were falling down after every shot attempt. They did get a foul call finally at the end as Stauskas made the 3, but looked like they were really angling for some more calls.

UM has done a poor job of defending the paint in this game. Most of KU's points have been in the paint or at the FT line, and they are letting KU get easy second-chance putbacks as well. If UM shores up the interior D (a BIG if) in the second half, they could win this game.

The way UM players have been falling down all game, no surprise that McGary fell like he'd been sucker punched after the hit below the belt. It didn't look like a hard punch at all.
