Good game last night Bucks. These guys can be better than good. Cook is coming off the bench, what does that say. Even twig had a steal and a dunk. I look for more of the same against SF. Lets go Buckeye's!
All the way to the final 4.
:oh:

Football is taking care of their business, its time for everyone to get squarely on the Basketball bandwagon who arent already there and start boosting this team. If we continue to improve while Oden is out, there is no reason this team cant get to the Finals this season. I'd like to see less turnovers this game and hopefully Lighty will start to get his game on track offensively. I'd also like to see continued improvement in the fouls shooting.

The last time we played these guys, we lost to them. They were the first official game on our schedule that year, and we lost a heartbreaker at their place due to poor refereeing. It was the game that O'Brien lost his voice before (I think he had surgury or something) and he wrote on his dry erase board "This is sad" during the game and showed it to one of the refs, whom quickly gave him a technical

Bottom line, these guys deserve payback. Here's hoping we blow them out.

San Francisco (2-1) vs. (4) Ohio St. (4-0)

San Francisco (2-1) vs. (4) Ohio St. (4-0)Preview - Box Score - Recap

Ohio State's marquee freshman probably won't play until January, but the rest of its recruiting class has been pretty impressive so far.
The fifth-ranked Buckeyes hope for another strong effort from their young players when they host San Francisco on Monday.
Highly touted freshman Greg Oden, a 7-foot center, is recovering from surgery on his right wrist to repair a ligament injury and is expected to return around Jan. 1. However, the Buckeyes (4-0) have done fine without him, winning their first four games by an average of more than 25 points. "You always wonder what it will be like to play with Oden," junior guard Jamar Butler said. "We just need to keep playing and getting those wins until then."
Ohio State has gotten plenty of help from the rest of its recruiting class. Mike Conley and David Lighty have started all four games, and Daequan Cook ranks second on the team with 17.5 points per game off the bench.

"I have no problem with it," Cook said of his role as a reserve. "Everybody can't start. There are no stars on this team. Everybody's going to play."
Conley and Lighty were the first true freshmen to join the starting lineup since Butler, and the first to start a season opener since Michael Redd in 1997.
Cook scored 22 points and Conley added 13 in Friday's 74-45 win over Eastern Kentucky. The Buckeyes, who made 58 from the field against the Colonels and forced 26 turnovers, have shot at least 50 percent in each of their first four games while holding opponents to 38 percent shooting.
"The biggest thing that will cause other teams problems is the fact that they have some very good shooters who can shoot it deep," Eastern Kentucky coach Jeff Neubauer said. "Even if you're playing a man-to-man, it stretches your defense so much because you're guarding a guy behind the NBA line instead of just the college line."
Senior Ron Lewis, who leads Ohio State with 17.8 points per game, chipped in 11 points on Friday.
"The great thing about this team is you never know who will lead each night," said Butler, who had eight points. "It can be anyone on any night that can lead."
The Dons (2-1) won their first two games by a combined 39 points, but lost 86-66 to Fresno State on Friday. San Francisco shot just 34 percent after making 56 percent in the first two games.
The Dons feature a backcourt of Manny Quezada, Armondo Surratt and Antonio Kellogg, each of whom transferred from the Big East. Quezada leads the team with 17.3 points per game, while Surratt ranks second with 16.7 and Kellogg third with 16.0.
Senior Johnny Dukes (hand) and junior Danny Cavic (ankle) have not played this season because of injury.
"Against a team like Fresno State and playing shorthanded, it is difficult to play from behind," coach Jessie Evans said. "We needed to play better defense and shoot the ball better to stay in the game." Ohio State and San Francisco have not played since Nov. 21, 2003, when the Buckeyes won 76-65.

Ohio State Seeks .500 Record Against WCC

Buckeyes currently stand at 1-2 all-time against WCC opponents.

Nov. 20, 2006
San Francisco (2-1) at No. 4 Ohio St (4-0) 8:00 pm EST
COLUMBUS, Ohio (Ticker)
- Ohio State seeks to even its record against West Coast Conference foes when it faces San Francisco on Monday.
The Buckeyes suffered a 76-65 setback to the Dons in their 2003-04 season opener. That loss gave Ohio State in a 1-2 all-time record against West Coast Conference opponents.
Daequan Cook scored 22 points off the bench and fellow freshman Mike Conley added 13 as the fourth-ranked Buckeyes posted a 74-45 rout of Eastern Kentucky on Friday.
Ohio State shot 71 percent (17-of-24) in the first half en route to earning its 22nd straight non-conference home win.
The Dons suffered their first loss of the season Friday, an 86-66 loss to Fresno State. Manny Quezada had 18 points and five assists and Armondo Surratt added 16 for San Francisco, which shot a miserable 34 percent (24-of-70) overall.

13-8 bucks. Big O comes in and gets a quick block that leads to Lewis' transition 3. Lewis has 8 points for the Bucks. Conley has 3 and a couple steals and assists. Harris, Cook and everyone else is a little cold early on.
