we need oden to do better. the rest were great

? I don't agree with this one bit. His defense was outstanding...... I'm not sure what people expect out of this kid. Coming in, he was never known as a 30 points a night type player, he was more known for his paint presence, and defensive ability. Plus, consider the fact that he had just lost a good friend a few days earlier. Oh, did I mention that he's 19 years old?

I'm getting frustrated with the expectations of this kid, he is an impact type player as we stand.......his offense will continue to improve. He's still getting back into the swing of things with his right hand, yet I get the feeling that some think he's underachieving.

I just liked the win. Now for MSU

Bingo! A win is a win, I think some lose sight of that. People shouldn't forget that this team has a lot of youth, and only has 3 losses, which came to the top 3 teams in the country on the road.

This team is starting to incorporate more of a up tempo game with Oden in.......and I think you'll see more of it as we get closer to tourney time.

FWIW, do you think that some Wisconsin fans are out there right now wishing that they could have mustered a win last night? Do you think that they would have cared if Tucker only had 9 points in a winning effort?

I agree with the team starting to play more uptempo with Oden in there...

Alos if we are going to continue to play a little more uptempo I hope that matta keeps going to the bench and getting Twigs, Hunter, and Lighty more time than what they were getting a week or so ago...

Most topics have been covered, so I'll talk about the refs.

I thought they did a good job overall last night. As a Buckeye fan, I questioned Oden's second foul, and the traveling they called on him when someone was on his back; but they let the teams play and the calls didn't heavily favor the home team.

Those who remove their scarlet glasses will be able to see on the stat sheet that Purdue only shot 5 free throws last night, and that the refs called 12 fouls on each team. The Purdue fans were whining in an attempt to get some calls, but that seemed to have a minimal effect on the refs, to their credit.

Their were two borderline calls on blocked shots/goaltending a couple minutes apart in the second half, and they called one each way, which is all you can expect on the road.

yeah the fouls may look even on paper with 12 for each team, but they were not very consistant with what they were calling. With the ticky tack calls on ohio state if they call those both ways Purdue is playing without their starting 5. Everytime tosu drove they were getting checked like it was hockey, yet at the other end odens leg brused someone's back and that is a foul?

I mentioned that I questioned that foul on Oden. I also think there were some calls that the Purdue fans obviously disagreed with. Overall, I believe it was a well-balanced effort by the refs.
