I don't get it...the kid is a great player and has a great motor but is it just me or is he not a slightly more talented version of Anderson Varejao?

I think you're right on the money with this one. Noah's pretty big (listed at 6'11"), and he's very athletic, which allows him to dominate at times in the college game. However, he has absolutely no ability to score outside about six feet from the hoop. Therefore, in the NBA he will be limited to rebounding and playing solid defense. That, as you point out, is a perfect definition of Varejao. And, hence, spending a #7 or #8 pick on him would be a ridiculous waste.

FWIW, I thought all last year that Dickie V and the rest of the gurus were insane for saying that Redick deserved to be a top 15 pick. Of course, Orlando wastes the #11 pick overall on him. Where is he now? Averaging a whopping 6.2 ppg, and the only reason he's getting any playing time now in contrast to his sitting on the bench at the beginning of the season is b/c Grant Hill has been hurt.

For the most part that is true. I'm a Magic fan, and was not happy about drafting J.J., but to be honest he has looked good when is he in, he just never plays. There is obviously a reason behind this, but I would not mind hanging on to him.

just think of what we'd be saying about Florida if Kentucky could hit 33% of their 3 pointers......

Florida should've lost that game, but Kentucky going 3 for 22 pretty much gave them the game.....
I said that after the game and got blasted on here because the Gators "got hosed by the refs".

The refs were hard on Florida that night, but they still played like crap.

This slide they are on has been coming.

Noah just picked up his 3rd foul BTW.
