If anyone out there wants a 360, but isn't sure if it's worth it with an old, standard definition TV, check out these links.

Many out there are probably like me, either not in a position to buy an HDTV, or you want to save up for a model that is truly worth the bank account nosedive. I figured there might be some out there who would find this informative.

These links really give you a good idea of the differences:

1UP.com - Your home for PC video games PS2 Xbox 360 PSP DS GBA PS3 WII cheats previews reviews boards blogs (side-by-side Video Comparison)

GameSpot:Video Games PC PlayStation 2 Xbox 360 Wii PS3 GameCube PSP DS GBA PS2 PlayStation 3 (mouseover comparisons of same scene)

...................

Also, you can connect your 360 to your PC monitor for HD, albeit smaller (unless you own a monstrous screen), visuals. You can buy adapter cables for this purpose.

Man, haven't you been looking into this 360-on-SDTV thing since like ... October of last year?

Pull the trigger and buy one already! :tongue2:

Or maybe not ... MS appears ready to push Sony all in and slash the Core price to $199.

Console "sweet spot" is $199, says Microsoft // GamesIndustry.biz

...

"We are well aware that the sweet spot of the market is really 199 bucks," said Hufford, speaking to Bloomberg.

Observing Nintendo's lower price point for the Wii, he stated: "When Mom walks into the store and sees she can get a console with a game for USD 250, she sees it as a USD 300 value. They've done a good job."

It's not only price where Microsoft intends to follow its rival's lead. Targeting the family group with new titles and a renewed marketing push is another priority, as it hopes to shake off the 'hardcore' tag that held back sales of the original Xbox.

"If we don't make that move, make it early and expand our demographic, we will wind up in the same place as with Xbox 1, a solid business with 25 million people," commented Xbox boss Peter Moore.

"What I need is a solid business with 90 million people."

Heh, yeah I've been dragging my feet. I believe they are debuting the 65nm chips this fall (cooler, quieter, cheaper to produce). Perhaps that is what will bring the price down to 199.
