360 NCAA13 Online Dynasty V (planning)

I'm thinking with the coaching contracts being messed up we should have them turned off so we don't get fired after going 11-1 or something like that

I was thinking the same thing. The only thing that sucks is that we will be stuck at our current schools. You guys won't be able to battle for the OSU job and I won't be able to work towards the Michigan job... which is a lot of fun.

I agree if we have to turn it off, I'll be disappointed, as it adds more fun to the OD of what school is interested in the user coaches.

Does no coaching carousel mean that CPU teams and coaches won't change schools?

I would guess you are right.

Some of the goals are so stupid. One of mine in an OD I'm playing in right now is to "fill all team needs before the end of the season each year"

That is a stupid goal. Basically telling me to recruit a crappy player just to fill the need... who I will later cut... rather than waiting until the summer to find and recruit a better one.

Ah that sucks...I'd rather have it on if it doesn't break the dynasty.

I'd like to keep it, but it sounds like it's broken... Been reading. People are getting fired after going 10-3 and meeting. All their goals

Not just that. The moves that computer teams are making are mind boggling. Such as the OC at Texas State getting hired as head coach at OSU after a 7-5 season. In some dynasties 50% of the coaches are being fired each season.

I've also read that it is almost impossible to move up the ranks if you are a head coach. It sounds like the schools only offer head coaching jobs to OC's or DC's.

Ridiculous. So does that change anyone's feelings on which teams to use? Are we going to use these for good? Or allow users to switch to programs with identical prestige and overall ratings during the offseason?

If this isn't patched... I vote that we turn off the coaching carousel. I don't want me/any of us to get fired at our current jobs and get stuck as a coordinator at a really crappy school.

The whole process of the coaching carousel is bogus. The goals are meaningless and they are designed to drive the ten year olds, not purists. I couldn't possibly care less if the team throws for 3000 yards, as long as there are no tick marks in the loss column. Winning is what matters. The carousel and contracts consider that secondary.

Exactly. In our OD last year where I started as an OC... I found myself calling plays to meet the goals rather than trying to move the football more efficiently and score more points. I remember it really cut down on my passing game because I had to maintain a certain completion percentage, which was extremely hard with my QB who wasn't a great passer.

Yeah I got nailed with that because I didn't recruit a FB for Ohio State. I just put a TE there since the FB's you can recruit all suck big time (2 stars are the best), and it's not like a FB is a major need in Ohio State's new offense.

And you will see at the end of the year, Zach Boren gets drafted.....

One minor point, the offseason is strictly overtime for existing prospects, there are no new prospects that surface later.

Also, your scheme and playbook affects player needs. I agree that the fullback is in need of an adjustment. One would be a better requirement.

we also will be recruiting fullback prospects, not extra rbs stuck at FB or converted 6'5 TEs programmed to block DEs. There are plenty of solid FB prospects and most are easily acquired 1 star prospects.
