the TE that I threw to for the winning 2pt was actually my 2nd read to be honest...I wanted to hit the quick slant in the slot but you had him covered him quite tightly, I looked to my right and happened to me my TE wide open
The pick was very fitting for the game. My guys stood there or looked away on pass after pass underneath to the TE who was covered like glue, never turning to pick it off or even hit the guy on the catch.
Yet I revive my chances late in the fourth with an improbable pick on a bullet pass... Apparently thrown to the wrong spot.
I had finally generated some pressure and wanted to keep it up, so I sent two linebackers and left my impact defender on your TE. I figured I might give up an underneath pass but might also force an errant throw under pressure. Either way you needed twenty one yds to score so I had some breathing room.
of course, the hot route needs to actually register in the system for that to work
Highlights up. I like my middle backer coming down with a sudden case of scoliosis on the hail Mary to create a cushion for the hail Mary towards the mass of bodies.
even though one TD was off of 1 huge play...I honestly feel like this was the best gameplan I had for a while...I knew I had to trust myself in throwing the ball...i'm usually run run pass, or pass run run...
and I didn't mean to have my TE curl so much...i honestly didn't realize it....most of the time, i pick plays off my WR routes, and I have no idea where the TE is going
Not a complaint about the curls, more my coverage, though my backers are pretty weak. This is still basically a stock Ole miss roster. The only upgrade is at DT. Next year the new wave of talent gets unleashed after a redshirt year.
SEC speed will be unmatched at QB, especially in the Ole miss vandy game.
