This blurb is from CFBNEWS.com - Dibbles started this year, and Young was their main return guy, who had a chance to be the main RB with Benson gone.

Texas
Senior DT Larry Dibbles, senior RB Selvin Young, and sophomore CB Erick Jackson will not be participating in the Longhorns spring drills, which begin on Feb. 25; Reasons for each players absence have not been disclosed, but it appears to be due to academic issues

Whoa... this is HUGE news. Selvin Young was supposed to be their main guy to replace Benson at RB. Not that there probably aren't other good backs, but having their main RB miss spring ball definitely can't hurt our chances. Not that I like seeing another team struggle in this way (unless its Cryami), but its definitely good news for us.

That's a bit of a blow for Texas, for sure, but I am not convinced that we need the help. We can approach the UT game with a lot of confidence already, and besides -- if any player is going to hurt us it's Vince Young, not Selvin.

Selvin's going to to ACC (Austin community college) this semester to get his grades back up so I hear. He'll probably be reenrolled in time for our game. At least I hope so, we're not deep at RB at all. His likely backup is still in high school. Not good, although he (Jamaal Charles) was the #1 RB prospect in the state this year. But the Shoe is not a good place to play your first ever road game (another understatement). For those who might be wondering why I'm not mentioning Ramonce Taylor, he's not exactly an every down back. In fact, he'll probably be used a lot like Ginn this year.

Selvin got injured during the second game of the season last year, but up until then he was our main return guy.

Dibbles I'm not so worried about. First, because we have excellent depth at tackle. Second, I think his issues are injury related, not academic, so there's a high probability that he'll be back in time as well. Missing spring drills will hurt though.

Jackson I'm least worried about. We are VERY deep at DB, and he's buried in the depth chart. Hope he gets his grades in order though. It's always a shame to see players fail in the classroom. As a side note, I'm always amazed that ANY major program football player could have academic problems. They have more resources and help available to them than any other student on campus.

Young is also recovering from a broken ankle he injured in the Arkansas game. He is probably at ACC because Brown wasn't going to have him participate in spring drills anyway. I am sure he will be in the Shoe wearing BO on gameday.
