They wings were completely outplayed from 19:59 in the 1st period to the end of the OT. They never ever ever ever ever fucking put a team away anymore.

This team isn't going to get any better next year either. Their big time acquisition is going to be Jiri Hudler :slappy:

So instead of getting bigger and/or more physical, they are adding one of the smallest, least physical players in the game today. That'll REALLY work if by some miracle they make the playoffs next year without Lidstrom/Miller/Eaves and/or Helm.

The Wings are sorely lacking a legitimate sniper on the top two lines. They have plenty of players who are capable of scoring here and there (Dats, Zett, Cleary, Holm, Flip), but none of them have the knack for scoring goals at the right time. Forget about Stevie Y. and Fedorov, they don't even have a Slava Kozlov or Shanahan. Plus, the "grind" line isn't what it used to be. DET has done a great job of building teams around "blue collar" players, but they really needed a superstar for this team to make a run at The Cup.

Howard showed his weaknesses tonight. Two inexcusable goals.

It would be the funniest thing ever if DET starts Ozzie for game 4, and he rides it out to the finals.
