'26 OH PG Marcus Johnson is a Buckeye!!!

Johnson is currently one of two commits in Ohio State’s 2026 recruiting class, along with fellow in-state prospect Alex Smith, a three-star forward from Upper Arlington. With those two commitments, the Buckeyes currently has the No. 1 class in the nation for 2026, though the vast majority of the class’ top prospects remain uncommitted.

Just sayin': Yeah, that ranking won't last long.

Other than the Thad 5 we've never seen a class that ended up there. Holt had one really good class didn't he?

On the same night Ohio State's NCAA Tournament hopes officially ended, Marcus Johnson's season came to a close as well.
After Garfield Heights’ Division III state semifinal loss Sunday night in a sold-out Canton Memorial Field House, the 2026 four-star point guard and Ohio State commit didn't hold back when it came to praising Ohio State's coaching staff, a group he is extremely close with.
"I just got off the phone with (Jake) Diebler today. He's a really good coach, a really good guy," Johnson said. "Definitely locked in with Ohio State."
While he is fully committed to the Buckeyes, Johnson has yet to decide whether or not he will reclassify to the 2025 class, though he said it is an option.
"It's an option right now, but I don't know yet. It's a decision for sure," Johnson said.

Mr. Basketball 2025. Congrats!!!

Marcus Johnson is also considering a reclassification to the class of 2025 to get his college career started next season, but said he's still in the process of making that decision.

If and when Johnson enrolls at Ohio State, he'll become the 14th former Ohio Mr. Basketball to wear the Scarlet and Gray, including current Buckeyes Devin Royal and Colin White.
