How’s recruitment going? What are the biggest factors in you deciding where to play at the next level?
DP: I don’t want to mention any schools because my recruitment is completely wide open. I’ve been focused on being on an even better leader and point guard.
Too small.after 4 crystal balls to osu (0 within the last year), penn receives an "undecided" from brian snow. penn just received an offer from northern kentucky after an offer from toledo, which are his only two offers since the fall. seems rather safe to say that penn's offer from osu is non-committable.
watched him (online) in live aau play a couple weeks ago. very small sample size, but penn was easy to miss. not a guard who imposed himself and seemed to play more off-the-ball than on. little impact if not hitting jumpers. again, it was just one game and there's plenty of time this spring and summer for him to showcase greater range and tenacity. all he needs is one good weekend for some good mid-majors and perhaps a lower high-major to jump on board.
And Ja Morant is the right size? Nate Robinson? I'm not saying size is irrelevant, but superior talent always finds a way to shine. It is hard to evaluate talent, even moreso when the Rice commission restricted coaches to less AAU scouting, and no one is perfect at guessing the future.Too small.
As I've said before, someone I trust has told me that diva'ish behavior has been somewhat off-putting.And Ja Morant is the right size? Nate Robinson? I feel like you are not going to get the best out of Dom if you play him off the ball, as from what I have seen, his strength lies in his ball skills.
It is unfortunate that Dom had not gotten more offers, it does seem like most people feel he is not quite OSU-level, but as I said it is an inexact science and often kids whose parents had great playing success surprise everyone with how they end up because many take a more professional approach to the game.
penn showed an inability to get past his defender and find any crevices as a result. teammate guards johnson and anthony were quite a bit more competent at that, though. penn was mostly relegated as a spot-up shooter probably because he wasn't showcasing competence at breaking down defenders.I feel like you are not going to get the best out of Dom if you play him off the ball...
