21 hours, 18 more pages, 10 hrs sleep since Monday: odds?

an imbecility, a stupidity without name
Odds I finish my paper? Pertinent facts:
- Must go to printer 4pm PST Friday (no exception)
- 17.5 pages done, 35 pages minimum
*~4 pages law (slow, steady pace)
*~5 pages history (medium page)
*~8.5 pages analysis (fast but uneven pace)
- Some minor research needed (max 1 hour)
- Strict formatting requirements (no fudging)
- Must be of quality suitable for submission to journal (~2-5 footnotes/page)
- 10 hours of sleep since Monday morning
- Pace this week (working 10am to 1am):
*Monday: ~3 pages (heavy research day)
*Tuesday: ~3 pages (heavy procrastination day)
*Wednesday: ~8 pages (moderate research day)
- Sporadic access to coffee & energy drinks

I'm taking the under ..
Definitely on the upswing - and you need to invest in more caffeine. :)

4, 5, 8.5, done - need another 17 pages take it as 12 on Thursday and 5 through Friday morning, then a mad rush to the printer.

This paper will be reviewed by a professor, the head of the writing program, and 2-3 journal staff. The noble tradition of academic dishonesty is not an option.

Unless you can cut and paste I'm feeling a fail. The only time I ever had to come up with a paper like that the prof didn't read them, he just scanned it to make sure the format looked good. Worst class ever. Half the SOB was copied from the Internet. Just make sure you don't site the sources you steal from.

Oh, and out of fairness to the optimists, the next (and only) time that I will visit this site before 4pm tomorrow is at midnight (betting deadline) to provide an update. However, as some of my sources are online, I can't disable my internet access. Bye.

18 pages in 21 hours? Sounds to me like you have a solid 3-4 hours of quality Xbox time built in there before you really have to start worrying about the clock. :tongue2: I did all my big papers through grad and undergrad this way. You'll knock it out, no problem!

Ok, its midnight and 20 pages down. More importantly, the most inefficient sections are done. Feeling wide awake. Wolf Blitzer still says its too close to call.

I think the fact that I share your philosophy is what got me in this position in the first place. But this one is a whole other animal.
