2025 scUM Shenanigans, Arguments, etc.

Today could be the day (again)

aka The Alba Mantra

No matter when the hammer falls on the cheaters, it will be sweet if we get even half of what we want, no matter how long we have to wait for it.

The torch of hate for the cheaters will never burn down, much less out.

On the other hand, and as I'm sure you know, Alba turns 44 in 4 days. you have been carrying this torch so long that the time is fast approaching when she could show up at your door and offer you everything you've wanted for the last quarter of a century, and you'll be like... "I'm good".

So... As long as you keep hating the cheaters, you can have that restraining order transferred to ... your next soulmate. We won't judge.

Even before anything may come down they are cooked on the field this year, i'd be shocked if they lost under 5 games. Only thing keeping them from being a total wreck on paper will be the ineptitude of certain other B1G teams.

If I took the NFLdraft as a measure, I’d have to say that we at BP have consistently underestimated the talent at Michigan for the last 5 years and especially this year. Recognizing that teams try to match picks and needs (and that in at least three cases, Bengals, Browns, and Cardinals have no idea wtf they are doing) I still look at this year and see three cheaters picked ahead of any Buckeye. The greatest diff being Mason and their other dl being picked well ahead of Sawyer and JT.

I'd take results on the field over NFL results.
Unfortunately, we have 4 years of tripping over our own asses - hard to be happy about "results on the field".

When you constantly have guys staying for 4, 5 or 6 years you eventually hit home runs in those later years. I think this year there will be a quite a real drop off, especially on the DL. They aren't just plug and play replacing those 2 loads at DT.

scUM has had talented players on their roster (usually on the defensive side, specifically the DL) but their depth is lacking and they aren't loaded with upper end talent like Ohio State

And yet they rolled their inferior team into C-bus as a 3 TD dog and somehow won.
I so badly want to taste victory over these shitgibbons. Gotta put an end to this madness ….
Day handed them the game with his Marty McFly "I'm not chicken" gameplay. We come out like we did in the playoffs, and we absolutely cover that spread.

is 2024 really a "rebuild year" if they lost 4+ games again in 2025? Seems more like a trend to me.

Funny thing is go over to GoBlow and they are already discussing how it's a lock that Ohio State will lose at least 3 games

OSU is so fucking overrated, there's no way they repeat.
Just because they won it last year with a 2 loss team and 20mil+ roster, that won't mean shit for '25.
'23 Michigan would have shut down '24 osu, in fact, '24 offensively anemic Michigan shut them down. The '23 team probably beats them 31-10 or something like that...in Columbus!

I do think that OSU is at a "year zero" next year. Granted, their floor of talent is very high. But Im not penciling them into the BTCG (which they havent been to since 2020 and haven't earned their way unto since 2019), let alone the playoff and the national championship games. I'd be very surprised if they repeat. Not saying it won't happen, but I don't expect it.

With everything they've lost Ohio State is not beating Texas, they're not beating Penn State, and they're drawing practically dead in Ann Arbor. The only remaining question is can they squeak into the playoffs with 3 losses. Either way this should be Ohio State's worst team since 04 (I don't count 2011). You can't lose THAT much and have a giant question mark at QB and expect to be anything special.

And new coordinators. Ohio State is basically where we were last year, but with a deeper crop of HS stars and some legitimate QB prospects. As far as proven talent, it's WRs and ???

Sometimes I wish I knew how to twitter so I could follow what this was in reference to. Most of the time I'm glad I'm illtwitterate.

It's in reference to this

I feel like if we knew everybody's plays before they ran them, we might have been able to win @Oregon. Michigan could've yelled the play call from the sidelines through a megaphone and it wouldn't have changed anything if our gameplan was always going to be run head first into a concrete wall, though. Guess we'll just have to accept life as the only legitimate champion in the last 2 years.
