He isn't that much older than Cignetti, the difference is perception. Scum fans will treat this as a bridge hire, and also rewrite Whittingham's well tenured history. He has been a good but not great coach. Cignetti may coach another 7 years. People aren't saying that about Whittingham. He is good, not great

He is also good enough to pull off a win against OSU, and also lose to a mid level B1G program. That is what he was at Utah. Every year.

If people think there will be some sort of professional level up and he will rewrite what he was, they are going to be disappointed.

Agree. Whittingham isn’t crazy old, but him stepping down after 30+ years at Utah tells me he’s not looking to coach more than 5 years, if that.

They’ll be a tough out, about they were this season. It’ll be interesting to see how many players transfer. I’m guessing more stick around now.

What’s the ROI on NIL for a billionaire that has no interest in sports?

Asking for a friend.

How much he gets some from his wife?

NFL DC Run is over. Reportedly Whittingham will target the BYU DC. this is not a scary hire at all.

To calculate that we will need to nail down a few variables ....

1. How much time does Larry spend inside his current wife ?

2. How skilled is said wife ?

[buckeyemania11]

Utah OC and BYU DC who were not moving up until Whittingham got hired at Michigan late and called them to tag along. These aren't even close to elite B1G level hires

Looks like they may try to flush the program of the sewage. At least, it may look good from a PR viewpoint.

1. Hire an outsider
2. No Ravens/Harbaugh coordinators
3. Probably fire Warde

They can then resume their attitude of moral superiority and continue being fucktards.

So absolutely no in with recruits in the midwest and the south. Makes sense.

Appears Whittingham is only targeting guys who he's familiar with and doesn't really have to work very hard to get. That's not an inspiring start. BYU DC was on Utah staff from 2005-2013

The irony is that he coached under Meyer, who DFBIA surely believes to have been Jackie Sherrill-level dirty.

Yeah, I thought KW was a Meyer protégé'. He's been the coach at Utah since Urban left for Florida, hasn't he?

Whittingham has a ceiling of pre-covid Harbaugh. That coupled with the Weiss saga doesn’t have me worried at all….but TF do I know

Don’t care who their coach is. Just beat them again next year.

Legal question, with the Weiss investigation ongoing and hundreds or thousands of victims, is scUM open to $$$$$$$$$ civil suits?

I believe quite a few have already been filed. The FBI notified many of the victims that they had been hacked.

Defensive coaching has been scUMs major strength. The BYU DC is good for BYU but if he really is the guy this is a major downgrade for scUM even from Wink.
